Assassin’s Creed: Forsaken Coming December 4th

Ubisoft have today announced that a new Assassin’s Creed novel will be released shortly after the long awaited Assassin’s Creed IIIAssassin’s Creed: Forsaken will be penned by Oliver Bowden, the author behind the previous Assassin’s Creed novels, and will follow “the story behind who Connor really is and how he has become a deadly killer.”

Video Game novels are always a fantastic way of expanding the fiction and there are a tonne to choose from. The sales of the previous novels, hovering around the 400,000 mark, is not as impressive as the sales of the Assassin’s Creed video games but it’s clear that there’s a large demand for them. I’ve read them and they’re quite the read.

Those looking to delve deeper into the universes of their favourite video games don’t have far to look. If I were to recommend a few I’d point out the Gears of War novels, written by Karen Traviss, or the Halo books, written by Eric Nylund and many other authors.

Assassin’s Creed: Forsaken is due to hit stores December 4th, 2012. Assassin’s Creed III will be available for purchase on October 3oth in the US and October 31st everywhere else.
